On April 18-19, 2024, Neus Escobar served as a jury member for the Falling Walls Lab – MSCA Awards during the MSCA Conference 2024, held in Mons, Belgium, in conjunction with the Belgian presidency of the Council of the EU.
The conference gathered a diverse array of research stakeholders to discuss the versatility of research careers, the challenges faced by scientists, and the initiatives of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions aimed at enhancing the skills and employability of fellows. During the MSCA Awards, 15 selected MSCA Fellows presented 3-minute pitches highlighting the innovative nature and impact of their projects. Prizes were awarded for the top three presentations, along with an audience award.
The winner, Gabriele Greco, will represent the MSCA Programme in Berlin at the Falling Walls 2024 Science Summit, taking place on November 7-10, 2024. He won for his talk “Breaking the Wall of the Textile Industry”, in which he presented his research to improve the properties of eco-friendly artificially bioinspired spider silk for textile applications, including green smart textile technologies.
